About Senses6

Senses6 is a smartphone-centric monitoring and remote management app for Windows-based hosts. Using an agent installed on each Windows host, Senses6 is able to alert users to performance issues and can assist in the remote resolution of those issues.

Senses6 provides audit information (e.g. operating system, physical memory, interfaces, etc) for each host running the Senses6 System Agent, as well as performance and capacity data. In addition, the Senses6 System Agent can accept requests from the mobile app, enabling remote shutdown of processes, service configuration changes, as well as host restarts and shutdowns.

In environments running at least two Senses6 System Agents, availability monitoring is also provided through ping tests conducted by each agent against its peers.

The Senses6 System Agent is completely free and can be installed on any number of hosts within your environment. Multiple copies of the Senses6 mobile app can be purchased and utilized by your entire team to view the hosts that you are monitoring.

Through Push Notification (and optional email notification) all team members are alerted to problems when they occur, through configurable thresholds and watches.

Best of all, Senses6 does not require any firewall changes or special networking configuration to function.

Getting Up And Running

1) Purchase the Senses6 mobile app for iOS or WP7 and use the app to create an Account for your company, as well as a User for yourself. Additional members of your team who purchase the app can use the same Account, with their own User.

2) Download and install the Senses6 System Agent on at least one host within your organisation. Additional hosts can be added at any time.

3) Run the Senses6 Configuration Tool (SCT) on each host where the Senses6 System Agent is installed. SCT assists in creating the configuration file needed for successful agent operation.

4) Start the Senses6 service following configuration. In future, the service will start automatically when the host is booted.

5) Re-launch the Senses6 mobile app and ensure that your monitored hosts are reporting in.
